Its first foray into fasteners was in 1963 when the company was made NSW distributor for the plastic “Expandet” brand of wall plugs. Macsim’s plastic wall plugs replaced, the then, fibre plug and it is still one of the mainstays of its range.
From the early 70’s Macsim gradually increased their range of anchoring systems. Other fastenings, such as rivets and screws and bolts came into the range from the mid 80’s after dividing off the commercial cleaning machines into a separate company. The Macsim’s range includes over 5500 stock items, the number growing every week as new items are constantly being added to the range.
Macsim Fastenings is one of the few, truly Australian owned Fastening companies
in the country, distributing a full range of fasteners, screws, rivets and
fixings. The company is a vibrant, growing concern that continually improves
and expands its range and continues to open new markets for its quality products.
Macsim now operates warehouses in four states (NSW, VIC, QLD, and WA), has
a distributor in Far north QLD and N.T, a sales representative in S.A, and
franchises in New Zealand and Hong Kong.
BRW rated Macsim as one of the fastest growing private companies in Australia, in both 1993 and 1994.
2005 saw Macsim move into their new warehouse at Eastern Creek, which has a floor coverage of 5000sqm. The new facility has the latest in scanning equipment to ensure fast turn around of orders with less errors and better stock control.
